Snooki Quits Jersey Shore, Says She's Been Getting Death Threats: 'I Just Can't Do It Anymore' - TooFab

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is saying goodbye to her GTL days.

The reality TV star announced she's "retiring" from "Jersey Shore" on the latest episode of her podcast, which dropped Friday morning.

"So here comes my breaking news ... it's definitely a hard decision," she began. "I'm gonna throw up. OK, you guys, I love you so much and don't hate me for my decision, but I have to do what's best for me at the moment, and I am retiring from 'Jersey Shore.'"

"I am not coming back to Jersey Shore for a season four, if there is one. And there's a lot of reasons why, but the main reason is really, I just can't do it anymore," she explained, adding that leaving her kids for filming is "really really hard" and she constantly thought about quitting.

"I hate being away from the kids, I don't like partying three days in a row, it's just not my life anymore and I wanna be home with the kids," she continued. "It's just really hard on me to leave the kids and film the show. That's one reason."

She said that when she films, she wants to have a good time and come off as "a good person," but "lately on the show, it's just been very drama."

"Our show, Jersey Shore, is about family and about making fun of each other and having a good time and laughing, and just knowing that it's all in good fun," she went on. "And lately, it's just like, everything is so serious, and when it comes to our show it's not about like, team this, team that, and then fans are against one another when it comes to a cast member. That's just not how the show works and that's how it's becoming."

"I don't want that and I'm not leaving my kids days on end to film this show when that's the result of it," she added. "I don't like the turnout of it and I don't like the person I'm being portrayed as and this is getting a little too much. 32 years old with 3 kids and if I'm doing a reality show I want it to be fun and lighthearted and just lately it's not like that and the show is getting so dramatic and drama."

When her cohost said they don't need the drama, she said unfortunately "that's the whole show now and I just can't be a part of something like that, especially when I'm leaving the kids and I', hurting to film a show I'm not comfortable filming when it comes to drama and stuff like that.

She added that she's not comfortable with "the direction" the show is going in and needs to take time for herself. She said that, because of it, she and her kids have been getting death threats over something that shouldn't be taken so seriously. "It's just a lot and it's not something I signed up for with this show," said Nicole.

Snooki also said her roommates tried to talk her "off a ledge" when it came to quitting, but she said "the show isn't what it was ... it's all drama and team this and team that and death threats and I'm not about it anymore."

"I don't like the narrative of anything, I'm removing myself, I love you guys so much, I love my roomies to death, they know that, I'm not going anywhere when it comes to them and them being my family," she continued, adding that her exit doesn't mean she's done with TV or reality TV entirely. "The cattiness, I just can't do it," she said.

While she expressed she didn't like how she's been coming across on the show, Snooki did add that she has no "hard feelings when it comes to the production, or MTV," saying that she loves the network and considers them family. "Hopefully I can work with them more." She also said she believes there will be a fourth season of "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation" and she wished her now-former costars the best. "I just want my roomies to have a good time and enough with the drama, please," she added. "It's supposed to be a happy, fun show and it's turning into a nightmare."

The decision comes amid a feud with costar Angelina Pivarnick, after Nicole, JWoww and Deena gave a bridesmaid speech at Angelina's wedding which included jabs and jokes at the bride's expense.

TooFab confirmed that the ladies' speech left Angelina feeling "upset." According to sources, they made comments along the lines of calling the bride "the dump to our island" and "the trash bag to our house," referring to old jokes about her from earlier seasons of the show. We're told Angelina "was upset and stormed off" and the women were not speaking to each other after the affair.
